Comparing the Diabetic Diet Plan to the Medifast Diet

November 21, 2011 – 11:50 am

The diabetic diet plan is a plan that’s used both by diabetics and those who are at risk for diabetes. Because the likelihood of getting diabetes is somewhat affected by genetics, many families will also use the diabetic diet even if some of the family members do not yet have this disease. It can help to prevent genetic diabetes. The fact that an entire family can follow it actually makes it a convenient plan for someone who’s in charge of meals for an entire family. The foods are fresh and healthy and provide all the required nutrients.

On the other hand, some people don’t like that high sugar and processed foods must be avoided on this plan. Others find that the Medifast diet works best for them because it does have customized diets that can work for diabetics, but the food comes all completely prepared. It’s an excellent choice for those who are always on the go. Some people find success on this diet though and then report that it can be difficult to transition back to regular food. Like the diabetic diet, this diet does focus on lowering carbohydrates, which can be an issue for some. As always, you must consider all the options and find the one that works best for you.
